Dr. Bijit Biswas

Dr. Bijit Biswas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at AIIMS Deoghar, where he also serves as Faculty-in-Charge of the Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC). He holds an MBBS from IMS & SH Bhubaneswar, an MD in Community Medicine from AIIH & PH Kolkata, along with DNB (Community Medicine), DCMH, PGDFM, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH).
With over seven years of post-postgraduate experience, Dr. Biswas has previously served as faculty and senior resident at AIIMS Gorakhpur, Patna, and Jodhpur. He has an extensive research portfolio with over 90 publications (including 60 indexed in PubMed), more than 8,300 citations, and an h-index of 22. He has been involved in multiple nationally and internationally funded research projects as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator.
Dr. Biswas is an Editorial Board Member and reviewer for several reputed international journals and has received multiple national recognitions, including the EFI Young Scientist Award and the National Award for Tobacco Control (2025). His research interests include vector-borne diseases, school health, occupational health, and chronic disease epidemiology.
